Plug to pin assembly

The Oakley plug to pin assembly machine is designed to rapidly assemble the plug that is normally used to seal the lower end of the elements prior to the filling operation to the lower terminal pin.

An adjustable hopper feeds the terminal pins into the assembly location where an air cylinder drives the plug to the proper location on the pin. Standard collets are used to clamp the tubing, and this makes changing diameters very simple and fast. It can accommodate different diameters and plug sizes.

The automatic machine to assemble the plastic plugs on the bottom terminal pins is ideal when the welding between the spiral and the pin is performed manually.

NOTE No setup is required when changing the length of the terminal pins, or when the plastic plugs are in the same position relative to the terminal pin end.

AUTOMATIC VIBRATING FEEDER FOR PLASTIC PLUGS The vibrator comes complete with a bowl specific to each plug type, and a guide track to carry the plug to the assembly position.

NOTE The cycle speeds of this assembly device depend on the quality of the plugs being used. Plugs must be completely free of burrs — otherwise they will not feed properly and will jam on the bowl tracks — and their dimensions must be consistent. Failure to meet these requirements will cause machine stoppages requiring operator intervention, and the specified cycle times will not be achieved. Terminal pins must also be straight for the same reasons.

AUTOMATIC FEEDER FOR BOTTOM TERMINAL PINS All terminal pins must be loaded into a suitable container with their points facing the same direction.

ELECTROPNEUMATIC DEVICE for assembling plugs onto terminal pins and unloading them at the end of the cycle.
