Automatic coil-pin welding and plug assembly

The Oakley automatic coil-pin welding and plug assembly machine is designed to be a high speed production unit for assembling and welding pins and coils. The machine carries out three tasks simultaneously: assembling terminal pins with the coil, installing the plastic plug on the lower pin, and welding the coil to the pins.

PIN-COIL WELDER WITH ELECTRONIC CONTROL — up to 300 welding programs with up to 32 programmable parameters per program. The system includes: electrode approach, welding current ramp setting, current and welding duration setting, holding current setting, upper and lower welding current limit settings, and pressure hold with post-weld cooling.

STAINLESS STEEL HOPPER for positioning the coils.

OPTICAL SENSORS to verify coil presence in the transfer unit.

2 PNEUMATICALLY ACTUATED PINCERS that collect and transfer two coils from the feeding hopper into the collecting hopper by means of a DC motor.

FEEDER FOR LOWER PIN-PLUG ASSEMBLY The station consists of an automatic vibrating feeder for plastic caps and an adjustable-stroke pneumatic pusher for insertion onto the pin.

LINEAR TRANSFER Pilgrim Step System with CNC-machined coil supports, designed to receive and precisely align the individual components — coil and end pins — and transfer them to the assembly stations.

2 AUTOMATIC FEEDERS FOR TERMINAL PINS The terminal pins are loaded in bunches into the feeding hoppers with all tops facing the same direction. One pin is fed per machine cycle, and its presence is automatically verified on the transfer by a fiber-optic sensor.

COLLECTING HOPPER Hopper for collecting the two coils and sequentially discharging them into the assembly transfer.

ALIGNMENT DEVICE Device for aligning the coil on the transfer conveyor for assembly of the upper terminal pin.
